Sous Chef – Gastro Pub

I am currently looking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated sous chef for a stunning gastro pub situated in the West Sussex countryside.

This is a permanent position, to start ASAP.

The basic salary offered is £34,000 pa, which increases to £40,000 thanks to guaranteed annual troncs.

The right candidate:

• A sous chef with a background in a similar setting
• A hardworking individual with very good knowledge of health and safety and with a good understanding of budgets and GP
• A creative and passionate person, willing to contribute to menu development and to show off personality in order to create a unique experience for customers
• A natural, yet friendly leader – able to lead a team and work as part of a team
• An excellent communicator

The role:

• You will prepare and present traditional British dishes to a high standard
• You will assist the Head Chef in creating seasonal menus and you will run the kitchen in his absence
• You will work well as part of a team, ensuring the organisation’s standards are maintained at all times
• You will consistently comply with health and safety regulations and ensure that the BOH staff will follow these guidelines
• You will liaise with the FOH staff to ensure the smooth running of services
